Touring with Godspeed
Just came back home yesterday from 3 days of touring with Godspeed You! Black Emperor (supporting them with Air Cushion Finish).
Think of Lippstueck, Gatis Silde, Mr. Brennholz and myself riding “rollende Astrastube” (Opel Astra something, cramped full with stuff).
The “living the dream”-side of this tour included leaks in the car roof, expired gas station sandwiches, lost mobile phones and all that. Try making a light tech NOT use fog or laser lights on “parallel universal music”. It works!
And hey! It felt sooo great.
Not only could we share great spaces with a genre expanding ensemble, GY!BE, and their crew, all of whom supported and treated us with great hospitality.
We also were made aware again, that the most akward music, lived and performed earnest, always finds a lovely audience wherever you travel. Special compliments to Prague´s hipsters in that regard, who, despite their trendy looks, had the most curious ears of a large audience we yet had the luck to play for.
